For Air Greenland we implemented a mobile website, providing a number of the site’s key functionalities. In a time where everyone is going responsive, the mobile site still has a purpose.
For Air Greenland the choice was simple: Redo a content-heavy site in a responsive template, or provide bandwidth-challenged users with only the essential services in a device-detected mobile version.
Instead of going the responsive or adaptive route, Air Greenland opted for a strictly mobile approach. This was done to focus on a few key areas of the site which were deemed relevant for mobile users: Mobile Check-in, Arrivals and Departures, Cargo calculators, and basic contact information. Other large content areas, such as destination descriptions, interactive maps and online booking were intentionally excluded.
